FoF: Apple, NFL, Chowgirls & ‘Mild’

On January 9th, 2007 Steve Jobs announced the iPhone. Yeah, you read that right, 2007. Time flies and all that….. Also, for the football fans out there, it was on January 9th, 1962 that the NFL prohibited the grabbing of face masks. Good thing we got that under control. 😛

But I digress… you probably want to talk about beer… and food… and the fact that it’s Friday…

Food on Fridays (FoF) welcomes back Chowgirls Killer Catering who offer a broad range of American comfort food including vegetarian and spicy ethnic selections. Tonight’s all gluten-free menu includes:

  • logoWinter Squash and Sausage: Chunks of butternut, skewered and grilled with Italian sausage with a touch of fried sage and maple butter
  • Tofu Squares: Cornmeal crusted fried tofu topped with a dollop of house-made sriracha
  • Beef Stew: Thousand Hills grass-fed beef brisket, slow cooked and chock-full of potatoes, carrots, peas and love
  • Veggie Stew: Slow cooked hearty winter vegetables in a butter-herb base, made with love

On the beer side, we continue the brewer’s choice offering with our Thom’s English Mild. Subtle, crisp bitterness on the front finishes with a touch of biscuit and nuts on the back. This session style comes in at a low 3.0% ABV and is intended to be a lightly-flavored, easy to drink and malt-accented gluten-free beer.

This weekend’s tap selection:

  • Pyro American Pale Ale
  • Roasted Coffee Ale
  • Fused Cranberry
  • Fused Orange Blossom Honey
  • Thom’s English Mild (Brewer’s Choice)

Cheers!
