In case you haven’t heard, tacos are the most important meal of the day. Thankfully, Rusty Taco will be back at the Burning Brothers taproom tonight to fulfill all of your taco(ee) needs.
We are also declaring summer as being over as we have filled our last growler of the Lime Shandy this afternoon. We’ll see it again in 2015!
Tonight, we are once again be hosting the Hot Indian Foods truck. They were named 2013’s Best New Food Truck by Minneapolis/St. Paul Magazine and offer a tempting array of Indian cuisine goodness.
In addition, we are tapping round 2 (ding ding) of our Imperial Stout. Still tastes like chocolate and punches like Tyson, maybe just not as hard.
With the arrival of fall, our thoughts are turning to harvest time and the cold winter days that are just around the corner (insert obligatory Game of Thrones reference here). Here at the brewery, we’ve pulled out the recipe book and are cooking up pilot batches of some stouts, winter ales and other holiday goodness.
We are also out and about sampling our brews at various places. One of the showcase beer events of this time of year is the Autumn Brew Review (ABR) which is hosted by the MN Craft Brewers Guild. If you are out at ABR tomorrow, make sure to stop in and tell Dane and the team “mitte me dolor commodo”. 😉
In the taproom, we aren’t quite ready to let go of summer, so this Friday we are again hosting Crazy Puppy Gourmet Workshop. They will be bringing back their gluten-free fair food goodness, including cheese curds, corn dogs, mini-donuts, onion rings, etc.
Finally, this will be the last chance to get your Lime Shandy for 2014. It’s not that we don’t love you Lime Shandy, but it’s time for us to have some space from one another.
Hey everybody, this is your Friday update. Normally this is the sport where I would expound on the food truck deliciousness that we are hosting tonight, but unfortunately there where some technical snafus which caused scheduling mishaps. Long story short, no food truck tonight.
That being said, it’s still the weekend and we are deep in the middle of beer festival season and we’ve got another one on the docket. Dane and Andy will be pouring on Saturday in Somerset, WI at the Border Battle Beer Fest. Not only will there be beer, but also a car show, bike rally and live music, including a performance by Lynyrd Skynyrd.
We’ve got events happening in multiple states today, so let’s just dive right in.
We’ll start with the fact that our dear Head Brewer left home in the wee hours of the morning to be at the Great Lakes Brew Fest in Racine, WI today. Dane will be there pouring Pyro, talking beer and answering all your “Burning” questions. (Yeah, I know the pun was bad, but really, would you have been able to resist the temptation either?)
Next, we are opening the taproom early today in support of Rails & Ales. Taproom hours are from Noon to 8pm today and there will be a variety of happenings to coincide with the event including the 128 Cafe Food Truck.
Lastly, we are tapping a keg of our Roasted Coffee Ale today. This will be the last keg off the pilot system as the brew crew dove off the deep end this week and brewed up our first batch of coffee on the big system. Coffee should be a staple on the taplines in the upcoming weeks.
Today’s tap selection:
Pyro American Pale Ale
Fused Lime Shandy
Fused Orange Blossom Honey
Fused Raspberry
Roasted Coffee Ale
Let’s enjoy the weekend everyone! Cheers!
PS: A little teaser for what might be happening next week. I wonder why they cleared that big empty space in the brewery?
This Friday we are excited to welcome back Chef T-Bone with Tollefson Family Pork Farm. They are one of the very few companies that still offer all-natural meat products and are exclusively available through Twin Cities farmers markets, food trucks and their chef’s table.
Friday is here and unfortunately we will be without a food truck tonight. While certainly not the end of the world, it does make us a little sad.
That being said, there are a variety of gluten-freeoptions in the neighborhood that one could consider for delivery or take-out. If you have questions on what is safe to bring, just ask.
Also don’t forget, we are now offering Grumblers (750 ml) in addition to our Growlers (64 oz).
Back by popular demand, the Crazy Puppy Gourmet Workshop joins us this Friday at the taproom with their delectable selection of gluten-free fair foods. Why you ask? I think this quote from owner Andrea Hammel Wollak sums it up best:
…surely there are others out there who miss over-indulging in cheese curds, corn dogs and mini donuts, too…
So, you can choose to take a pass on the insanity at the Great MN Get Together and instead get crazy with us here instead.
Also in the taproom we are having a second go round of our Black Strap India Pale Ale. Dane took your feedback from round one and has tweaked this single-hopped IPA to provide a more balanced bitterness while still offering a hint of black-strap molasses.
Last, but certainly not least, we are pleased to announce the availability of “Grumblers” to our taproom. It’s like the long lost sibling that a growler never knew it had! These 750ml bottles provide the perfect option for that solo take home experience or for when you can’t quite make up your mind over what to fill your growler with.
We are excited to announce the return of the Gogi Bros food truck this Friday. They are Minnesota’s first and only authentic Korean BBQ food truck and we very much enjoyed their offerings the last time they stopped in at the taproom.
“Roasted” coffee ale continues this week as our featured tap selection. We take the bitter from coffee and mix it with our special blend of Cascadian hops to make a beer that is thick, dark and yum yum yummy! And yes, it’s decaf. (7.7% ABV)
